Backups contribute to business continuity by ensuring that your business can swiftly recover from data loss incidents.

  • Long-Term Data Retention

Microsoft 365 includes built-in retention features, yet it falls short as a comprehensive backup solution. Our offering ensures an unlimited retention period, enabling the recovery of your data whenever necessary.

  • Sender Reputation Analysis

Verify emails based on the reputation of senders, considering factors like sender history, domain reputation, and authentication mechanisms.

  • Granular Recovery

Our backup solution facilitates granular recovery, allowing you to restore specific files, emails, or other data elements without the need to restore the entire system.

Questions about Geostream Microsoft 365 Backups

Why do I need to back up Microsoft 365 data?

While Microsoft 365 provides a robust infrastructure, users are not exempt from accidental deletion, cyber threats, or data corruption. Backups play a crucial role in ensuring data recovery in the event of such incidents.

What does Microsoft 365 back up automatically?

Microsoft 365 automatically replicates data across its data centres, ensuring high availability. However, this does not replace comprehensive backup. Microsoft primarily focuses on infrastructure-level redundancy, not granular item-level recovery.

Can't I rely on the Recycle Bin for data recovery in Microsoft 365?

Although the Recycle Bin offers a certain level of recovery, it has limitations. Items in the Recycle Bin are automatically purged after a specified period, and it does not provide granular recovery options for specific files or versions.

How often should I back up Microsoft 365 data?

The frequency of backups depends on your business’s data change rate and retention policies. Regular, automated backups (e.g., daily or multiple times a day) are recommended to ensure minimal data loss. Our solution backs up data three times a day.

What should I do if I receive a spam email?

If you receive a spam email and have an active Geostream IT support contract, do not reply, click on any links or attachments. Instead, forward it to [email protected] and then delete the email. If you don’t have an active Geostream IT support contract, do the same but inform your IT provider or IT department.

Is Microsoft responsible for backing up my data in Microsoft 365?

Microsoft follows a shared responsibility model. While they ensure infrastructure resilience, it is the users’ responsibility to protect their data.
